Sarnano (MC) - One of the most beautiful villages in Italy - Marche

At the center of an enchanting valley, at the foot of the Sibillini mountains, stands one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, named Sarnano. Its historical events are linked to St. Francis and his followers: legend has it that the Saint, to address the discord between those who wanted to establish the free community and the old local lords of the Brunforte family, designed - with the cord of his monastic robes - a seraph angel, who suddenly began to shine.

Those present were so impressed that, after the decision to free themselves from the ancient Signoria, they adopted it as the first coat of arms of the municipality.

The historic center of medieval origins is one of the best preserved in the Marche. The walled city is characterized by ancient streets that wind in concentric circles, stairways, and breathtaking views.

Its territory is crossed by landscaped paths to be covered on foot, horseback, or mountain bike.

A stone's throw from the center is a small oasis of peace called Via delle Cascate Perdute.

You can taste the delicacies of the place: from salami to game, from legumes to artisan bread cooked in wood ovens.

One of their specialties is the crunchy nougat tart, prepared by hand with almonds, hazelnuts, and spices and cooked in a wood oven.

One of the most significant events of the place is the Castrum Sarnani Medieval Festival when the city makes us relive the past by immersing us in the Middle Ages.
