Santarcangelo di Romagna (RN) with its Malatesta Fortress - Emilia Romagna

Santarcangelo di Romagna is one of the most beautiful and fascinating villages I have ever visited. As soon as you enter the village, you find the Malatesta castle on the right, while on the left, there is a garden of fruit trees used as a restaurant.

The fortress can only be visited with a guide. It looks like a place still inhabited as if it were someone's home.

It is true, however, that the Castle owner, when visiting, sometimes organizes dinners there.

From the courtyard, which is very lovely and decorated with flowers, you can access the castle's upper floors. Inside, there are various valuables and the Malatesta coats of arms. The walls are high, and the furniture massive; they almost make an impression of their majesty. Despite this, we seem to be in an inhabited place.

To continue, we visit the village, which captures our attention at every corner. From every perspective, you notice a fabulous landscape.

The environment is so well cared for, and the decorations are so harmonious that we seem to be inside a postcard. On the sides of the center, there is the possibility for those who need to rest, sit on the benches or the lawn, and enjoy contact with nature.

Finally, we stop at this garden restaurant, where piadina with meat and vegetables is served in picnic baskets. The atmosphere is enchanting, a fairytale. And Santarcangelo is a village to be appreciated.
