Sabaudia (LT) - Lazio

In addition to the 20 km of golden beach, Sabaudia also includes three splendid natural lakes and hectares of forest belonging to the neighboring Circeo National Park, one of Italy's oldest protected natural areas.

The city is built according to the dictates of Italian rationalism;

An architectural style created to reinvent the tradition of our country, and represented by buildings such as the Palazzo del Comune, with its civic tower; the hospital, and the headquarters of the national maternity and childhood work; the Palazzo Delle Poste designed by Angiolo Mazzoni, a structure consisting of a single mezzanine floor and completely covered with blue tiles in honor of the House of Savoy.

Among the religious architectures present in the city, noteworthy are the Church of the Santissima Annunziata, known for its royal chapel donated to the town by Queen Margherita of Savoy;

the Sanctuary of Santa Maria Della Sorresca, a building founded by the Benedictines in the 6th century, known for the ancient wooden statue of the Sorresca which it preserves inside and which, during the celebrations on Monday after Pentecost, is carried in procession inside of the surrounding area.

One of the essential elements of Sabaudia is always the sea, with its coasts about 200 m wide and covered with junipers, phoenixes, and other splendid examples of local vegetation.

Just behind the sea rises the lake of Sabaudia, known as the Lake of Paola, characterized by a perimeter of about 20 km and an average depth of 4.5 m and connected to the Tyrrhenian by a Roman outlet channel.

However, Lake dei Monaci should not be forgotten, made spectacular by the herds of buffaloes that often graze along its coasts. Lake Caprolace is ideal for those wishing to discover the marshy origins of the Sabaudia area.
