Ravello dominates the Amalfi Coast offering views of unparalleled beauty... The Amalfi Coast is a #UNESCO Heritage with 50km of coastline in the province of Salerno... #tuttitaly
It is challenging to describe Ravello, one of the places that most excited me; even the most superlative of adjectives could be too little.
Ravello is a panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, from which you can enjoy a scenario of natural beauty that is unique in the world. A quiet and chic country awaits you, which from its panorama of 350 meters above sea level, will make the Amalfi Coast appear like a daydream.
There are no words to describe this place. I hope to give you an idea of the extraordinary beauty of Ravello by reporting below the verses that Giovanni Boccaccio wrote in his masterpiece, the Decameron:
"It is believed that the marina from Reggio to Gaeta is almost the most enjoyable part of Italy; in which very close to Salerno and coast above the sea concerning, which the inhabitants call the Amalfi coast, full of small towns, gardens, and fountains, and rich men and procurers in the act of trading as well as some other. Among these cities is one called Ravello, in which, as today there are rich men, there was already one who was very rich, called Landolfo Rufolo."
Ravello is also considered the most beautiful terrace in the world: in particular, the terraces of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, from which you can admire a breathtaking view. They also enchanted Greta Garbo and Wagner, in whose honor the International Music Festival takes place yearly, making Ravello the city of music on the Amalfi Coast.
The concerts take place on the panoramic stage in the photo, with a flower garden of a thousand colors behind and on the sides. Imagine the scene while in the evening, at dusk, you are seated in front of the stage with the orchestra playing delicate melodies. At the same time, in the background, you have a crazy panorama with the villages along the Amalfi Coast illuminated by the lights and the magical reflections of the sunset on the sea. Such a wonderful place is Ravello.
