Emerald sea, bright white beach that lights up the coast, shoreline dotted with pink and Mediterranean scrub - this is Punta Molentis, one of the jewels of Villasimius, in southern Sardinia.
The beach, enclosed between a small peninsula and a mass of hollow rocks, takes its name from su molenti, the donkey, which once carried the material extracted from the surrounding granite quarries.
At sunset, the shore is tinged with the pink granite rocks.
The splendid landscape includes Mediterranean shrubs and cacti with multicolored flowers.
The shallow and sandy bottom makes this crystal clear sea suitable for children.
