Priero is located in the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont. Its territory is primarily surrounded by the Ricorezzo stream, which, in its name, recalls its function as a border watercourse that encloses it like a belt (rio corrigium), separating it from the nearby Perlo and Malpotremo.
The symbol of Priero is the Torre Maestra.
The cylindrical tower is 36 m high and is surmounted by a conical tiled roof. The masonry is of gray stone and is pierced by rows of scaffolding holes.
The tower's crowning protrudes in the upper part, supported by a row of high corbels that join together in an arch, interspersed with machicolations.
Inside, a staircase of 200 steps allows you to reach the top of the tower.
