Path of the Gods - from Agerola to Positano (SA) - Amalfi Coast - UNESCO Heritage Site - Campania

We could walk the entire Path of the Gods with little Kevin, who was only five years old. It was an unforgettable experience. Not only because it took us the whole morning to get to the city but also because, at every corner, we wanted to stop and admire and appreciate the panorama that appeared in front of us. A daydream.

The path is easily walkable and has given us a day full of surprises and emotions.

If you venture with a child, inquire about the return shuttles. We found a strike and had to take a taxi because the little ones couldn't redo the whole path on the same day. The timetable would not allow it; besides, it would all be uphill. In fact, for an optimal excursion, it is advisable to carry out the route starting from the top down.

The long walk begins from Agerola, from the hamlet of Bomerano, located at 650 meters above sea level, then crosses the locality of Nocelle and continues through the ancient route of the Hellenic colonists, once dominated by temples up to Positano.

The place still retains all its charm and has inspired poets and writers. Italo Calvino described the Path of the Gods as "that road suspended over the magical gulf of the" Sirens "still plowed today by memory and myth," It is precise with this phrase imprinted on a ceramic plate that the path that represents a boast begins, for the entire Amalfi Coast.

Many marine fossils have been found in this place, and in the caves, you can feel all

the primordial charm of life. One of these, the Grotta del Biscotto, has centuries-old houses.

The stretches of belvedere and the wood follow each other and leave room for the farmers who travel along what is not just a tourist route but the shortest way that connects the hamlets.
