Blue and clear waters, with its sculpted rocks, make it unique... #tuttitaly
Palau is a pretty town in the province of Olbia-Tempio. A prevalent location, it offers tourists the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable holiday thanks to its beaches and rich vegetation.
Palau Vecchio is for children who do not wish to leave the beach with shallow water and calm waters. This is a long beach with yellow ocher sand and crystal clear sea bordered by a beautiful pine forest where you can pass the time during the hottest hours of the day. Furthermore, you can take the Trenino Verde to visit the hinterland up Tempio Pausania and Nulvi. Here you can admire the rich vegetation and the magnificent views that open onto the beautiful coast.
A little further from the city center, there are other splendid beaches such as Costa Serena, Cala Scilla, Sciumara Beach, Barca Bruciata, Mennena Beach, Piscine Beach, Punta Saline Beach, Cala Capra Beach, and many others. Each of them is a little corner of Heaven.
The town of Palau also offers many attractions:
The Parish Church of Nostra Signora Delle Grazie, with its splendid stained glass windows created by Marino Sergiusti, is a must-visit. Palazzo Fresi is partly owned by the municipality and still owned by the ancient Fresi family. The Ethnographic Museum, where in addition to the exhibition of tools used until not many years ago, the domestic environments where one lived and those in which one worked are recreated.
Inland, you can visit archaeological sites that will allow you to get closer to the Nuragic culture. The Giants' Tombs "Li Mizzani" and "S'Aiacciu" are two millenary testimonies of a fascinating civilization, two attractions not to be missed!
The best-known and most photographed natural attraction near Palau is the bear-shaped rock called Capo d'Orso, sculpted and shaped by atmospheric agents in the shape of a bear.
The landscape of Capo d'Orso is fascinating thanks to tafone tombs and remains of the Neolithic age, and in the seabed opposite lie relics from various eras.
Finally, if you love postcard landscapes, I recommend you go up to the viewpoint of Baragge, where your gaze can sweep towards the Maddalena Archipelago and, on clear days, even as far as Corsica.
