One of the most famous, well preserved, and representative megalithic testimonies of the Nuragic civilization... #tuttitaly
The Nuraghe Losa is the only example of a Nuragic wall that has remained complete in its perimeter over time. This lets us know precisely the site size (three and a half hectares).
After passing the walls, you can realize the majesty of the megalithic structure, which in its solitude, gives us the idea of dominating the whole area. This is also due to its size.
The visit inside the Nuraghe is a decidedly exciting experience. Kevin also enjoyed walking the spiral staircase carved directly into the thickness of the walls of the central tower. And just through this staircase, we went up to the upper floors, where we could admire the panorama of the surrounding countryside.
After visiting the Nuraghe, we continued our stay in the external perimeter. We found a very particular environment a well was inserted directly into the masonry.
Visiting the perimeter area, we could admire the particular triangular shape and the sinuosity of the forms of the entire structure. Each element that constitutes the Nuraghe Losa has a rounded shape: from megaliths to architecture.
Finally, we visited a small building that houses the collection of artifacts found in the area and attributable to different eras: Nuragic, late Punic, and Roman.
