What to see
La Spezia is characterized by Art Nouveau stairways that connect the lower part of the city, above sea level, to its hills. At the top of one of the most famous, the Scalinata di San Giorgio, you can admire a suggestive panorama of banks overlooking the sea.
On the main street in the center of La Spezia, known as Il Carruggio Drito, one of the oldest streets in the city, overlooking splendid noble palaces and the Civic Theater.
On the Poggio hill stands the Castle of San Giorgio, an ancient defensive fortress, which since 2000 has housed the Civic Archaeological Museum, in which evidence of the prehistoric and protohistoric eras can be found.

The Costantino Morin promenade, a pedestrian street lined with palm trees and dotted with benches on the seafront, leads, across the Thaon di Revel bridge, to the Mirabella tourist port.
You cannot miss a tour of the lively market of La Spezia, characterized by the typical area products, the so-called "zero km." A large market sector is dedicated to fresh fish caught in the nearest seas.
