The "Beautiful City" of many beauties... #tuttitaly

Gallipoli (LE) - Salento - Puglia

The meaning of the name of Gallipoli is "Città Bella" and beautiful; besides the wonderful village, there is just so much to see and discover.

Arriving by car from Torre San Giovanni, the town appears modern and full of life - especially at night.

I have had the honor of visiting it more than once, both as a tourist curious about history and hungry for landscapes and as a "young man" to enjoy the nightlife during the day, thanks to the beautiful discos on the beach and the nightlife; thanks to the numerous clubs that animate this fabulous stretch of Italian coast at night.

After the first beautiful impact of the new center, you are attracted like a magnet to the ancient village beyond the bridge, as if it were the only purpose of the day.

Discovering the Borgo Antico becomes necessary, almost as if it were an oasis where you could quench your thirst for discoveries. The Borgo Antico remains perched on an island of limestone origin and is connected to the new city by two bridges, one older and the other more recent, that lead to the port.

I remember that I was so attracted to that island seeing the walls, ramparts, and towers, that I couldn't wait to cross that bridge to admire the panorama from the Borgo Antico and discover every corner.

It is also possible to access the Angevin Fortress from the old city, which once protected the city from invaders. Today, however, it protects it from storms while also preserving its ancient charm of the past.

Near Gallipoli, you will also find beautiful beaches, but also complete, indeed full of young and old (like me). When I write overflowing, I mean in the true sense of the word, where it is hard to find a few free centimeters to spread out the towel.

From the photos in the post, you can see what I mean; some clubs on the beach are transformed into real nightclubs on the sea that, during the day, attract thousands of people to dance in the middle of the ocean.

Therefore, the "Beautiful City" still holds its meaning today, and visiting these areas will rejuvenate you.
