The Forcella Pordoi Refuge is a characteristic alpine structure mounted on a pass of the extensive Pordoi massif at 2848m.
From the Pordoi Pass to the Forcella Pordoi Refuge, take path 627, which starts near the monument dedicated to Fausto Coppi.
After a first stretch, in which the presence of steps facilitates the step, you walk on almost flat ground up to the base of the scree. Here the slope becomes quite steep.
Follow the central path. Better to avoid following the tracks that head towards the wall because mountaineers use those to reach the start of the climbing routes.
Follow the signs on the boulders and, at an altitude of approximately 2580 meters, leave the branch on the right that leads to the via Ferrata Cesare Piazzetta.
This leads to the last part of the path. Here you go along the characteristic serpentine, which gains altitude with steep but regular hairpin bends.
It is also possible to reach the refuge by taking the cable car from Passo Pordoi to Sass Pordoi.
From here, you go down the path lowering for about 150 m in altitude to the Forcella Pordoi.
Suggestion:
From the Forcella Pordoi to the Boè refuge, the walk takes place in a mountain context that is nothing short of spectacular.
