Forcella Pordoi - Canazei (TN) - Dolomites - Unesco World Heritage List - Trentino-Alto Adige

Take the cable car from Passo Pordoi (2239) to Sass Pordoi (2948). The ascent by cable car avoids a height difference of 700 m, thus reducing the height difference that leads to the Cima del Piz Boè to just 250 m.

After admiring the view from the Maria Refuge, you go down towards a cross to admire the indescribable view of the Sassolungo and Sassopiatto.

Crossing path 627, you descend towards Forcella Pordoi (2848 m), where the small Forcella Pordoi Refuge is located. To get there, it takes about 15 minutes. The excursion is also quite pleasant, and above all, since there is a lunar view here. To remind us that we are still on Planet Earth is some little flower that manages to peep out from among the rocks. The path is easily walkable. Some slightly more exposed passages equipped with metal ropes facilitate transit ... and in any case, nothing complicated.

Following path 627, you reach the Boè Refuge. Then you have to take path 638, which leads to the top. As you go up, the view becomes more and more spectacular. Some sections are equipped with metal ropes and steps; others can only prevent the descent of other hikers from obstructing the passage.

On the top are a large repeater, a metal cross with a Madonna, and a small wooden shelter, the Capanna Fassa, a point from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view.

For the descent, you must follow path 638 on the opposite side from where you went. Here you have to pay the utmost attention because, in some places, it is pretty slippery. However, there are metal ropes and steps that facilitate the descent.

You go down a drop that requires sticks to avoid; we arrive at the Pordoi Pass. The descent took about 30 minutes, after which path 627 was returned to the Forcella Refuge. Overloading the joints. Finally

You can also return to Pordoi by cable car.

If you want to undertake this wonderful excursion, be well informed about the weather conditions, because in case of bad weather or rain it risks being dangerous.
