A landscape characterized by a remarkable variety of habitats, from the lagoon to the dunes to the beach. The flora is rich in species, such as the Tommasini cornflower and the Venetian glasswort... #UNESCO #tuttitaly
The Litoran Terrace is a panoramic point of the Veneto Coastal Botanical Garden, located on the northern border of the Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta, and built-in 1991.
A succession of different environments characterizes the interior of the Botanical Garden. Traveling over 4 km in the middle of nature, you pass from the pine forest to the freshwater wetlands, from the scrubland to the beach, and from the dunes to the brackish marshes.
There are three routes to visit this wonderful oasis:
route A, around 600m; Route B, about 1650m; and Route C, about 2850m.
Paths A and B are paid with closing times, while path C is free and always open. If you cross all three routes, you should start by exploring paths A and B, then move on to path C.
Path A has a circular shape and is characterized by very luxuriant vegetation. This path is the farthest from the sea and is characterized by some ways immersed in the pine forest, exciting suspended wooden walkways that run along a pool of water, and paths in holm oak woods. Right at the beginning of the way, there is a relaxing picnic area equipped with wooden tables and benches where you can have a packed lunch.
Path B allows you to cross various environments quickly, first the pine forest, then the dunes, and finally the shoreline. Just along this path are the beautiful coastal terraces from which it is possible to observe the panorama below. This place is truly relaxing and rejuvenating, and the only sounds you will hear walking along the paths will be those of the wind and the sea.
Path C is connected to path B by a small road characterized by a beautiful environment: it is possible to skirt the whole sandbank full of tiny lilac flowers and cross it via a wooden bridge.
Before going to the Veneto Coastal Botanical Garden, I recommend you check the opening hours, which vary according to the seasons. Enjoy the exploration!
