Casalborsetti - Fraction of Ravenna (RA) - Emilia Romagna

Once a small fishing village, it is a small and characteristic coastal town located in the center of the Po Delta Park, divided in two by the picturesque port canal... #tuttitaly

Casalborsetti is the northernmost seaside resort on the beaches of Ravenna. Crowded during the summer - in the winter, the town has about 800 inhabitants.

History

At the time of the unification of Italy, the only building of particular importance was the customs post. In the second half of the 19th century, Giovanni Borsetti obtained the guardian post.

Engaged as a sentinel against smugglers, Borsetti joined his main activity as a cobbler. He became a well-known and esteemed character by the fishermen and the area's inhabitants. He died in 1906.

In 1917 the municipal administration of Ravenna decided to name the cluster of houses forming around his workplace Casal Borsetti.

Why visit it

Casalborsetti is a privileged destination for those seeking direct contact with nature - thanks to the coastal pine forests, the beaches with gentle dunes, and the campsites.

Do not miss the Oasis of Punte Alberete, the pine forest of San Vitale, the valleys of Comacchio, and that of Mandriole - which offer suggestive corners for relaxation.

On the table

From fish to meat to the inevitable piadina, you can taste typical dishes of excellent quality in the many restaurants in the area, always accompanied by good wine.
