An expanse of fine white sand, so white that it becomes dazzling, behind which rise massive dunes, among the largest on the east coast... #tuttitaly
One of the most evocative places in Sardinia is undoubtedly the Capo Comino beach, located on the northeastern coast in the territory of the Municipality of Siniscola.
Capo Comino is one of the natural paradises of Sardinia, characterized by a wild, breathtaking beauty: an expanse of white and fine sands that form picturesque dunes covered with junipers and a sea with blue-green shades, which shows off crystal clear and uncontaminated waters.
Due to its charm, Capo Comino Beach is among Italy's 17 most beautiful coastal pearls.
Its sea, constantly lashed by the wind, is excellent for surfing; the transparent waters and the marine fauna attract spearfishing enthusiasts, and even diving is very popular. A few hundred meters from the beach lie the remains of a Roman fleet from Nero, the ship Commander Bafile, which sank in 1942, and a small French fighter plane, which crashed in 1963.
Opposite the coast is the Ruja island, a red porphyry rock that can be reached by swimming or on foot.
The beach of the Dunes offers a spectacular panorama. You will see a long expanse of white and soft sandy hills between which blue and turquoise brushstrokes appear at intervals: the contrast between the white of the sand and the colors of the sea is indescribable.
Part of the coast is accessible only in summer because it falls within the military polygon. And also, for this reason, walking in the middle of the dunes is forbidden.
Behind the beach, we find the Is Brebeis pond: a summer home to numerous migratory birds, including pink flamingos, kingfishers, and egrets.
The beach of the Dunes is a "precious pearl" of Teulada.
