Cala Gonone, hamlet of Dorgali (NU) - Gulf of Orosei - Sardinia

The sea, the beaches, and a virgin and uncontaminated coast constitute an incredible naturalistic offer of Cala Gonone, the only village in the municipality of Dorgali... #tuttitaly

Cala Gonone - Fraction of Dorgali (NU) - Gulf of Orosei - Sardinia

The only hamlet of Dorgali. Cala Gonone rises on the steep hill descending towards the coast of the Gulf of Orosei: "Gonone" is an adjective that derives from the Sardinian Nuragic noun "gonno," which means "hill" or "emerging land."

The mild winters and hot and dry summers make the stay in Cala Gonone pleasant all year round.

The current center was born with the construction of the church in 1878. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the village was populated by a colony of Ponza fishermen; in the second half of the 20th century, Cala Gonone developed as an important tourist and seaside center.

Cala Gonone is a strategic place that allows us to easily reach the coves of the Gulf of Orosei: reachable by sea or through the inland paths.

Among the most famous coves are: Cala Cartoe, Ziu Martine, Cala Fuili, and Cala Luna. The latter has remained in my heart and mind;)

The accommodation facilities of Cala Gonone are, for the most part, renovated and used for tourism purposes, often family-run.
