Amalfi is a jewel of Campania, more precisely of the province of Salerno.
The city lends its name to the Amalfi Coast declared, in 1997, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Amalfi consists of white houses that climb the Lattari Mountains and descend to the sea.
You can start visiting the city from Piazza Duomo, with the fountain dedicated to Sant'Andrea in the center.
Behind the fountain, a majestic staircase takes us to the Cathedral, the main monument, place of worship, and pillar of the Amalfi panorama.
The Cathedral has a facade with decorated mosaics. Here
you can admire the majestic white colonnades and the Cloister of Paradise.
Walking through the beautiful alleys of Amalfi, among the many shops, you can also taste the fried fish cuoppo.
Another place not to be missed: the Paper Museum, located in an old water mill, where you can see the ancient machines with which the flaking of rags, the raw material from which paper was made, was started.
Finally, walking along the characteristic promenade takes us towards the port, from whose tip you can admire Amalfi.
