Villetta Barrea (AQ) - Abruzzo

In the heart of this beautiful village is the Water Museum which houses an old mill dating back to the second half of the 15th century... #tuttitaly

If you want peace and to spend a few days away from the hectic city life, Villetta Barrea is the ideal place. The municipality has 611 inhabitants. Immersed in the National Park of Abruzzo, it is a tourist center bathed by Lake Barrea.

The town is between Monte Mattone and Monte Sterpi d'Alto and is surrounded by black pine forests.

Arrived here, you are in a suggestive landscape where nature and culture blend.

The symbol of the village is the small castle from the 1300s. Built-in the upper part, the town itself develops around it.

In addition to its naturalistic environment, Villetta Barrea boasts monuments such as houses and noble palaces of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, with rich decorations, coats of arms, and imposing portals.

Also worth visiting is the cemetery, enriched by a lovely chapel and the small church of San Rocco.

The warmth of the inhabitants, the authenticity of the scenery, and the centuries-old traditions make Villetta Barrea a unique place to spend pleasant moments of relaxation in contact with nature.
