Less than 10 minutes by train from Sorrento is Vico Equense, the first town on the Sorrento peninsula.

The most famous postcard of Vico Equense is the pink facade of the former cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata, built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. Behind it is the church of the arch confraternity with a beautiful eighteenth-century wooden altar decorated with millions of beads, corals, and glass paste.
Also worth a look is the Giusso Castle, built by Charles II of Anjou between 1284 and 1289. The ancient residence boasts various rooms suitable for hosting ceremonial banquets.
