Vettica Maggiore, fraction of Praiano (SA) - Amalfi Coast - UNESCO World Heritage Site - Campania

Vettica Maggiore is the lower part of Praiano, a picturesque town between Positano and Conca dei Marini.

In Vettica Maggiore stands the beautiful Church of San Gennaro, a Baroque building that houses the Altare del

Carmine and the 19th-century Chapel of the Sacred Heart.

Its dome is covered with glittering majolica tiles. These

also cover the church's pavement, making the interior quite suggestive. Also appreciable are the frescoes, statues, and geometric designs.

The church is in a square with a beautiful panoramic sea view.

Reaching Cala della Gavitella, you can enjoy spectacular

sunsets with a view of Capri and the Li Galli islands.

Finally, a few meters from the beach, via a steep staircase, you arrive at the Fontana dell'Altare, a picturesque natural pool created in the rock.
