Veneto Po Delta Park - UNESCO World Heritage Site - Po di Goro Beach and Mouth - Ariano nel Polesine (RO) - Veneto

The Po Delta Park is a protected natural area in the Veneto region, which in 2015 was recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

The Po Delta, dominated by silence and water, is characterized by a changing landscape: its waters sometimes let the muds of the lagoons emerge, and others completely submerge it. Its flora, which includes about a thousand species, changes with the seasons.

We can admire multicolored flowers, shrubs, reeds, poplars, holm oaks, and maritime pines.

Its fauna is also highly varied, including over 400 species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and fish, and over 370 sedentary and migratory birds. The calls of geese, ducks, marsh hawks, or herons' slow flight often break the environment's silence.

The Po Delta is a privileged place for birdwatchers and a favorite canoe destination.

We stopped on the beautiful Foce Po di Goro beach and enjoyed the sunset on its soft golden sand.

The luxuriant vegetation that frames the beach, the Bacucco lighthouse, and the typical landscape of the wetlands make this place particularly suggestive and fascinating.
