Terme Tettuccio - Montecatini Terme (PT) - UNESCO World Heritage Site - Tuscany

The Tettuccio Thermal Baths in Montecatini Terme are an authentic architectural and historical gem located in the picturesque Tuscan region. This magnificent thermal establishment, considered the symbol of the city and one of the most famous in Tuscany, is known as the "temple of European thermalism". Completed in 1781 according to the design of architect Gaspero Maria Paoletti, the building is a perfect example of thermal architecture inspired by Roman baths, made of travertine with sumptuous decorative details.

The distinctive feature of the Tettuccio Thermal Baths is a majestic granite fountain in the shape of a seashell supported by a bronze group of marine figures, surrounded by a pool decorated with seahorses. This thermal spring is the beating heart of the establishment, which also offers two additional pavilions: the Regina Pavilion, located near the fountain of the same name, designed by architect Ugo Giovannozzi, and the Portoghesi Pavilion, a unique building in Italy characterized by an interweaving of pillars and laminated wood beams.

The Tettuccio Thermal Baths are renowned for their specialization in hydrothermal treatments, which involve the use of thermal water as a beverage. The thermal waters offered include Acqua Tettuccio, Acqua Regina, Acqua Leopoldina, and Acqua Rinfresco, each with specific healing properties. For example, the Acqua Regina at 23°C is known to promote proper bile flow and be helpful in cases of liver dysfunction, while the Acqua Tettuccio at 24°C is appreciated for liver purification and cholesterol control.
