A thermal peninsula that extends for about 4 km on Lake Garda and home of Catullus...#tuttitaly
The charm of Sirmione is indisputable and has no comparison. To give you an idea, try to imagine a wonderful fairytale castle built on the water, the only access point to the city's historic center.
The water surrounding Sirmione is that of Lake Garda, in a landscape that has no equal in the world. At the same time, the stronghold that will welcome you before entering the historic center is the spectacular Scaligero Castle, one of the best preserved in Italy.
Getting to Sirmione requires patience, especially on weekends and summer periods. The road is only one, the parking lots are well organized, but the cars are many, and the queue is inevitable. Anyway, what you see will make you stay well immediately, and you will forget everything.
This peninsula plunges for about 4 km right in the middle of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world (if not the most beautiful, in my opinion), so the panorama that awaits you along the castle's walls is truly a panacea and a pleasure for the spirit and the body.
Sirmione is also famous for its thermal waters and Aquaria spa, which offers everything you need to rediscover well-being and serenity.
The center is immersed in a suggestive park and offers thermal pools, vascular paths, monochromatic showers, and much more. Then in the evening, it is possible to admire a beautiful sunset immersed in the hot water pool overlooking Lake Garda.
The remains of the most significant Roman villa in Northern Italy are located in Sirmione and are now called the "Grotte di Catullo." History or legend connects this beautiful archaeological site to the house of the famous Veronese poet Gaio Valerio Catullo.
