Recognized by the European Commission as 'Eden' destination of excellence... #tuttitaly
We always remain near the Archaeological Area of Tharros, on the Sinis peninsula, in the splendid Sardinia.
We are on the island's western side, a less frequented area than the Costa Smeralda, but of an extraordinary historical and scenic beauty, so much so that it is recognized as an
"Eden" destination of excellence by the European Commission. From here, it is also possible to access the archaeological area to contemplate the remains of the ancient city of Tharros.
Once in Cabras, I remember one of the first things Mr. Raimondo told us: "Go to Sinis and, as you reach the lighthouse, look at the two seas, the Mari Motu and the Mari Biu."
The sea on the left, on which the ruins of Tharros are visible, would be the "Mari Motu," which means "Dead Sea" because it is located inside the Gulf of Oristano; it is sheltered from the wind and therefore tends to be calm; while the sea on the right is outside the gulf and consequently exposed to the wind, for this reason, it is more frequently moved or agitated and would be the "Mari Biu" which means "Living Sea."
The Sinis Peninsula is an unspoiled paradise that you will not easily forget. Here the sunset is dressed in colors never seen before.
