Established in 1937 at 2035 meters on the homonymous hill overlooking the Val Chisone and the Valle di Susa, Sestriere was the first modern Italian ski resort and offered snow enthusiasts slopes of the highest technical level immersed in a landscape of sensual beauty.
With its 2035 m a.s.l. it is the highest municipality in Italy, referring the altitude to the height above sea level of the municipal house
The inhabited center rises on the Colle del Sestriere, at the foot of Mount Sises, and is surrounded by the Banchetta and Fraiteve mountains.
Sestriere offers over 200 different slopes served by 78 ski lifts and 400 km of slopes with a programmed snowmaking network that covers over 60% of the skiable surface. In addition, it offers the opportunity to connect with six other stations in the area and to ski at night in the light of the floodlights on the Giovanni Alberta Agnelli slope.
To experience intense emotions, the following are recommended:
- The Kandahar slalom Giovanni Alberto Agnelli run, located in the central area with arrival in the village and served by the Cit Roc chairlift.
- The Sises track, whose start is located on the slopes of Mount Sises and whose way is very demanding and technical. The Cit Roc chairlift and the Sises ski lift serve this.
- The Kandahar Banchetta track, whose departure is at an altitude of 2800 meters. The way develops on the slopes of Monte Motta, then descends on Monte Banchetta and ends in Sestriere Borgata.
From here you can enjoy a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. This is a route recommended for expert skiers.
Don't miss the cuisine! The Susa Valley offers a great variety of products from the land and numerous typical products: wines, cheeses, honey and salami, chestnuts, fruit, and potatoes.
A holiday, the one in Sestriere that satisfies all tastes!
