The coast of Scalea, with its rugged cliffs and wide sandy beaches, is one of the most enchanting places on the Riviera dei Cedri and throughout Calabria. Every year, thousands of tourists choose this location for their holidays, attracted by an 8 km long shoreline characterized by equipped beaches, hospitality venues, and restaurants just a stone's throw from the sea.
Among the gems of Scalea is Ajnella beach, one of the symbols of the area. Situated at the northernmost point of the coast, it marks the endpoint of the long succession of sandy and pebbly beaches. Here, the beauty of the landscape is accentuated by a picturesque "archipelago" of light gray rocks not far from the shore. Notably, there is the rock called "Giumenta," whose profile resembles the back of a majestic horse.
Ajnella is a free beach and offers ample space to relax and soak up the sun. You can walk along the beach, and thanks to some convenient steps, you can easily access the stretch of rocks where the breathtaking view of the Mediterranean can be admired.
