Santa Cristina Val Gardena (BZ) - Dolomites - UNESCO World Heritage - Trentino-Alto Adige

In Val Gardena, between Ortisei and Selva di Val Gardena, lies the sunny village of Santa Cristina Val Gardena, described by most as "a place to stop, linger and then return."

Most of the inhabitants of Santa Cristina are active in tourism and every year welcome hikers, cyclists, skiers, and families who choose to spend their holidays in this picturesque town.

Tourist attractions

Walking through the streets of the town center, you can observe the graceful buildings that characterize it and visit the parish church of Santa Cristina, which houses works of art by renowned sculptors of the region.

Between Santa Cristina and Selva di Val Gardena stands the Fischburg (Castel Gardena), built in the 17th century as a summer residence and hunting lodge.

The castle is privately owned and can still be admired from the outside.

Sports activities

Numerous hiking trails and trains start from Santa Cristina and lead to the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Winter sports enthusiasts also love the town.

Dolomiti Superski, the ski area in the heart of the Dolomites, offers skiers the pleasure of skiing in top-quality structures.

Valley cuisine

You can taste the Crafucins (Schlutzkrapfen, ravioli filled with spinach) or the Puessl (Schmarren of apple, a sweet broken omelet) among the place's delicacies.
