Sabbioneta (MN) - One of the most beautiful villages in Italy - UNESCO heritage - Lombardy

We move to Lombardy, to Sabbioneta, in the heart of the Po Valley. We are located between Mantua and Parma, about 30km between the two cities. Not far from Sabbioneta, the river Po flows, and the town is crossed by the 45th parallel, the median line between the North Pole and the Equator, and the ideal latitude for all the world's great wines.

Sabbioneta is also part of the list of the "most beautiful villages in Italy" and is the "Orange Flag" of the Italian Touring Club. It was also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site with Mantua in 2008.

For its beauty, Sabbioneta was called "the little Athens of the Gonzagas" or "the new Rome."

Many honors for this place rich in history and tasty gastronomy: here you can taste and buy products such as pumpkin Tortelli, sbrisolona cake, salami, cheeses, local Lambrusco wine, melons, pumpkins, and many other typical products of Sabbioneta such as the famous “Filos” biscuits.

The "Filos" biscuits are unique because they convey authenticity and taste. Initially, they indicated a meeting place for women who after the fatigue of the working day evening to spin. Subsequently to these "meetings," all the family members and friends participated; they exchanged opinions of the past day, advised each other on the next day's work, and had fun with what little they had available. Still, above all, some older people verbally handed down their experiences, traditions to young people, uses, and customs. It is from these traditions that the "I Filòs" biscuits are born, bringing the flavors of the past into the fragrance of their ingredients.
