Rocchetta Palafea, the birthplace of Massimo Berruti, is arranged in a cluster on a hill overlooking the Belbo valley.

Rocchetta was originally a military garrison made up of the Tower and a medieval keep partially demolished at the beginning of the 18th century. The tower, with a square base, with small observation windows, is a classic example of fortification in the Asti Langa.

To be seen

The town still retains its imposing tower, surrounded by the remains of the walls.

In Baroque style, the parish church is embellished by an eighteenth-century altar in polychrome marble and three paintings on canvas from the mid-eighteenth century.

The oratory of the Disciplinati, a valuable Baroque building, preserves inside the fresco of the Annunciation.

Local products

Rocchetta is known for producing high-quality wines and the biclet, a longer-than-normal raw salami with a tapered shape, obtained from the noble parts of the pig.
