Riccione (RN) - Emilia Romagna

Riccione is a seaside resort in the province of Rimini, which has always been capable of anticipating and interpreting the economic, social, and customary changes of Italian society to the point of deserving the title of "heart" of the summer holidays.

The history of Riccione is interwoven with a culture of hospitality from the beginning of the last century when the tourism of aristocratic families brought out the vocation of welcoming the first improvised operators. Today the locality has become an ideal destination for young people looking for fun, but also for families with children:

the type of seabed and the hotel and beach accommodation facilities are "child-friendly" for safe and satisfying stays.

What to see

You cannot miss a walk in Viale Ceccarini, among the luxury windows of the most famous brands and those of emerging artists.

A short distance from Viale Ceccarini, by the sea, we find Piazza Roma, which, in the summer, is transformed into a stage for concerts and events. The imposing Rain Forest fountain, created by the artist Tonino Guerra, is noteworthy.

Lovers of architectural beauties can take a tour to discover

the Art Nouveau villas built between the 19th and 20th centuries by famous Italian and foreign designers. The most famous in the city is Villa Mussolini. Called Villa Margherita initially, Donna Rachele Mussolini purchased it in the 1930s.

The villa overlooks the seafront of Riccione, and since 2005 it has been used by the Municipality for cultural events and exhibitions.

Among the attractions of Riccione, we mention the Oltremare theme park.

Here, besides having adventurous and fun experiences among Tibetan bridges and suspended lines, you can get to know: dolphins, birds of prey, alligators, and farmyard animals.

Another ideal park for children is the famous Acquafan, the water park on the hills of Riccione, where you can have fun thanks to over 3 km of slides and play areas dedicated to various age groups.

Those looking for a few hours of complete relaxation will find the Thermal Baths not far from Viale Ceccarini,

immersed in the pine forest with a seafront view, where they can enjoy the benefits of the sulfurous waters.

Gastronomy

Among the typical dishes of Riccione, in the first place, we find the undisputed queen of Romagna cuisine: the piadina. The fish soup is delicious, with different varieties of fish; the mixed fry, which as in every seaside city, cannot be missing; seafood pasta, with clams, mussels, and prawns.
