Every year, on March 21, World Puppet Day is celebrated, allowing us to relive the magic the puppet theater has brought to our cultures.
We were lucky to find ourselves in Cividale del Friuli precisely on these dates. And so we got to know Vittorio Podrecca's Compagnia dei Piccoli, the most significant Italian impresario, and director, whose puppets are famous worldwide.
Alongside the Compagnia dei Piccoli, a small part of the Maria Signorelli Collection was also exhibited.
Maria Signorelli was one of the most representative artists of 20th-century puppetry. At the age of twenty, he began to create and collect puppets and puppets. Today, its collection includes more than two thousand puppets, marionettes, Sicilian and Neapolitan puppets, puppets, stage backdrops, scripts, theaters, and figures of oriental theater.
The puppets, puppets, and all the exhibits have been declared "of exceptional cultural interest" by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.
