The Prince's Castle is an important historical and cultural landmark in the Burgusio area. Its imposing structure and its fascinating history make it a top-rated tourist destination.

The castle was initially built as the residence of the bishop of Chur in the 13th century. Over the following centuries, it underwent several renovations and expansions, which changed its original appearance. However, the oldest part of the castle, composed of the large tower and the surrounding stronghold, is still visible and represents one of the most exciting elements of the entire structure.

In the 16th century, the castle was enlarged and lavishly decorated. Remains of the frescoes on the facade, coats of arms in the courtyard, and splendid paneling testify to the importance and wealth of the castle in that period. The princely rooms feature coffered ceilings, which add a touch of elegance and refinement to the environment.

Inside the castle is also a chapel, which houses extraordinary frescoes dating back to the late 16th century.

A modern tabernacle, created by the sculptor Martin Rainer of Senales, completes the religious furnishings of the chapel and presents a group of bronze crosses.

Since 1952, the Prince's Castle has been home to the School of Agriculture and Forestry of the same name. Over 200 students from different parts of the country are trained here in agriculture, livestock, and fruit growing disciplines.

The historic castle building also houses an adjacent dormitory, accommodating students during their education.

The Prince's Castle, therefore, represents an essential historical heritage and an educational center of great importance for the local community. Its architectural beauty and fascinating history make it an unmissable tourist destination for those visiting the Burgusio and Malles Venosta area.
