Praiano stands between Positano and Conca dei Marini, a picturesque village boasting the most romantic sunset on the Amalfi Coast and among the most beautiful beaches, such as Cala della Gavitella and Marina di Praia. The latter is covered with pebbles and enclosed between high rock walls.

On the peninsula's tip stands the Torre a Mare, built during the Middle Ages for defensive purposes. It can be reached with a walk along the Path on the Cliff.

Tourist attractions

The narrow streets, the stairways, the houses in pastel colors, and the votive aedicules decorated in majolica characterize this fishing village, which has kept its character intact despite the passage of time.

The Church of San Luca Evangelista boasts a splendid majolica floor among the places to visit.

Also noteworthy are the Church of San Gennaro and the Church of Santa Maria a Castro, near the Convent of San Domenico, located in an elevated position in the Valle di Campo, which offers one of the most beautiful panoramas in the area.

Culinary specialties

A typical dessert of Praiano is the pizza roce, a casket of shortcrust pastry with custard and seasonal fruit.
