Porto Caleri beach - Rosolina (RO) - Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta - UNESCO World Heritage - Veneto

It is always pleasant to spend a day different from the usual, discovering the places that make Italy so beautiful and unique. Today we explore the Porto Caleri beach in the province of Rovigo.

The beach is near Rosolina Mare, a famous seaside resort in the Veneto region. Once the car is parked via Della Boccavecchia, head towards the Porto Caleri beach in front of the Botanical Garden.

The path to the free beach is truly relaxing because it is surrounded by vegetation. And nature, as we know, has its regenerating powers.

You don't have to walk a lot for the path to turn to sand. And, even if out of season, seeing the sea in the distance excites us very much. We are located on an extensive beach. It is not equipped and is characterized by an alternation of sandy dunes and vegetation.

What attracts our attention are the people, probably locals who, equipped with boots and appropriate clothing, seem to be looking for something in the sea, something they collect with their hands ... The curiosity is so great that we cannot help but inform ourselves to find out they are harvesting the razor clams. I regretted not having the boots behind, and not only that, maybe even a fishing rod for Kevin, who already wanted to get to work;)

Porto Caleri Beach, home of the Fratino

On the free beach, there is an area, adequately marked, dedicated to the nesting of the eggs of the refectory, this being a rare coastal bird, one of the most endangered species in Europe.

Given that the refectory lays its eggs in a small hole created between the sand and the shoreline, which makes it easily walkable by bathers, the volunteers of the WWF, the Veneto

Ovest forest organization unit, the Veneto Regional Authority of the Delta del Po and the Municipality of Rosolina have created this free beach area dedicated to the nesting of the refectory.

Conclusion

With much respect for nature, Porto Caleri Beach is a perfect place to spend a beautiful day with your family, relaxing for adults and having fun for the little ones.
