On the right bank of the Avisio stream, in the province of Trento, stands Pera di Fassa, the birthplace of the great mountaineer Tita Piaz, the Devil of the Dolomites.
Pera means "stone": the town takes its name from the imposing erratic boulder in the city's center.
Next to the boulder is the Albergo Rizzi, on whose facade there is an imposing fresco depicting San Cristoforo. In the past, the hotel has hosted kings, princes, nobles, and famous people.
Pera is nestled in a beautiful landscape. From here, you can embark on breathtaking excursions to the surrounding peaks and admire stunning views of the Val San Nicolò and the cliffs of Sass del Peredarfech.
In winter, you can access the cross-country trails and enjoy beautiful walks with snowshoes.
