Padua is the beating heart of the Veneto, three thousand years of history, art and culture make it one of the most interesting places in this splendid region... #tuttitaly
Padua is a real treasure to be discovered, especially on foot, walking around its parks, its squares, the beautiful buildings that fill it, and the splendid churches. Three thousand years of history, art, and culture make it one of the most exciting places in Veneto. Walking through Padua, let yourself be guided by emotions, the desire for discovery, by the many wonders of the city.
By visiting Padua, you will be amazed by Prato Della Valle, one of the symbols of Padua, a giant elliptical square considered one of the largest in Europe with 88620 square meters.
In the Middle Ages, Prato Della Valle was the scene of a custom that it would be nice to rediscover and relive still today: a wooden castle was built in the center of the square, and some girls, beautiful and from a good family, climbed on its towers, which were put on guard against a horde of young people who stormed the castle by throwing flowers, jewels and bottles of perfume.
The first young people who conquered the towers and managed to climb them took the girl they had "aimed" by the hand, asking for dinner with her. The lucky ones also managed to create a family together.
Visiting this beautiful and vibrant city will leave you with an excellent memory—an ideal place to spend a romantic weekend full of pleasing sensations.
