In the deepest heart of Sardinia, there is a hidden and mysterious place, located inside Mount Tiscali, where time seems to have stopped... #tuttitaly
In the heart of Sardinia, areas of great naturalistic character develop. Today we will visit Mount Tiscali, where a mysterious village is hidden that testifies to the history of the ancient Sardinians.
This fantastic rural environment is one of the most famous archaeological finds in Italy and was one of the last refuges of this civilization, used to escape and shelter from the invasion of the Romans.
It was discovered in the mid-nineteenth century by a group of woodcutters who passed through the area and was then made known to many thanks to the writer Ettore Pais and the archaeologist Antonio Taramelli.
Subsequently, thanks to the promotion by tourists and nature guides, it began attracting more tourists.
The Nuragic village includes 70 stone buildings with a circular bases with wooden architraves, and the largest ones reach 3/4 m in height with an internal diameter of about 3 meters.
We have no written evidence of the history of ancient Sardinia, but only many nuraghi. These are natural stone forts scattered around the island.
To visit this place, I recommend taking a full day and taking some water and something to eat with you because the adventure is quite long. But the panorama you can enjoy once you get to the top is indescribable.
