Noale is located in a rural area in Veneto, 22 km from Venice Airport (VCE).
What to see
The historic center is lapped by the Marzenego River, in which the Rocca dei Tempesta is reflected, used for military purposes until the 15th century. After a long period of abandonment, the fortress, of which only the imposing ruins remain today, was restructured and can be visited during guided tours or events.
The Clock Tower and the Bell Tower flank the two doors that formed the entrance to the historic center.
The Clock Tower, 32 meters high, was the eastern entrance to the medieval village.
The Torre delle Campane, 43 m high, was the western entrance to the village.
Next to the Clock Tower, in Piazza Castello, the Palazzo della Loggia stands out for its elegance. The building, in Gothic style, is on three levels. On the ground floor, a series of columns supporting cross vaults, a war memorial, and the tomb of Pietro Fortunato Calvi.
The large square also has the archpriest's church and
ancient houses decorated with frescoes.
The archpriest church of Santi Felice e Fortunato is the principal place of worship in the city. Inside, it preserves valuable works of art.
Along the road that connects Noale to Campo San Piero stands the church of the Madonna dell'Assunta, a former female Benedictine monastery dating back to the early 16th century.
The interior has a single nave in Romanesque style. On the
altar, an altarpiece depicting the Assumption with some saints by the Treviso painter Bartolomeo Orioli from 1602.
