Novella Cantarutti relives in its place of the heart, thanks to an exhibition in the streets of Navarons. On the centenary of her birth, the municipality of Meduno celebrates the Friulian writer and teacher with a photographic journey entitled "In scjapinela. On tiptoe"...#tuttitaly
Navarons, a hamlet of Meduno in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, is the birthplace of Novella Cantarutti. It is a multifaceted personality. She was a poet, storyteller, and scholar of the language and traditions of her land, and the open-air exhibition in the streets of the village is dedicated to her.
The small mountain village houses the historic church of San Pellegrino, mentioned for the first time in 1520. The current structure dates back to the 18th century, and the bell tower with its characteristic "tower" crowning was also built during the 19th century.
The church consists of a single nave embellished by an altar made of white and red marble with the two statues of San Pellegrino and San Michele Arcangelo.
Also worth visiting is the Museo del Risorgimento Casa Andreuzzi, dedicated to the Risorgimento uprisings of 1864 and the patriots Antonio and Silvio Andreuzzi.
