Montecarotto (AN) - Marche

Montecarotto is a tiny village that, despite its size, offers several exciting starting points for a visit. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the mighty Cylindrical Tower, the most visible monument in the town, with its still working clock manually rewound every day.

After the recent renovation, since 2011, visitors have been allowed access, who can admire a breathtaking 360° panorama from the top of the tower.

The town is characterized by a broad panoramic view which, on clear days, allows you to see both the Adriatic Sea and the mountains of the Umbria-Marche Apennines.

The Teatro Comunale overlooks the adjacent square, one of the historic theaters of the Marches, built in the mid-1800s thanks to the legacy of a local aristocrat.

The theater surprises its visitors with its rich beauty and refined details.

Since 2006, the rooms below the theater have housed the Mail Art Museum, which since 1985 has been dealing with art by correspondence, a genre of contemporary art that involves the exchange of ideas, works, and artistic experiences through postal means:

the envelope, the postage stamp, postcard, envelope.

Verdicchio

During the walk through the town, you can make a few stops in the small cellars to sip the excellent Verdicchio wine.
