The highest rocky massif of the Pliocene Contrafforte Natural Reserve. Magnificent circular itinerary starting from Brento, which meets a part of the Street of the Gods... #tuttitaly
Located in the middle Bolognese Apennines, Monte Adone is characterized by vegetation made up of arid grasslands and sparse Mediterranean woody species.
The summit of Monte Adone can be reached from the town of Brento, a fraction of the municipality of Monzuno, which rises on its eastern slopes.
The Ring of Monte Adone
Monte Adone is usually reached by those who face the Via degli Dei. Instead, we went to the town of Brento to reach the top of the mountain from there and cover a loop of about 6 km.
The climb is not challenging, and once you reach the top of Monte Adone, it is possible to enjoy a splendid panorama that dominates the valley below in the direction of Monzuno. No significant dangers exist, but you must watch the children so they don't lean too far.
It is natural to stop and meditate for a few minutes and then continue along the path until you reach the towers of Monte Adone: two majestic towers worked by atmospheric agents. At the top is a cross, on which passers-by leave a trace of themselves, perhaps marking their passage in the notebook available there. From here begins the long descent - challenging in some places.
After descending the mountain, we arrive on a road where we have two options: either take the first road to the right, which passes through Piccola Raieda, or continue between the houses and, at the end of the descent, go up again to the right. We have chosen the second hypothesis, which, even if a little longer, passes in front of the Center for the Protection and Research of Exotic and Wild Fauna, where injured or abandoned animals, mostly of exotic origin, find shelter.
