The cascade of records. With 165 m, it is the highest in Europe and holds the record for the highest artificial fall in the world. What at first glance seems like a natural work hides within it centuries of ingenuity and technological research... #tuttitaly
The Cascata delle Marmore is formed when the Velino River plunges into the Nera River and takes its name from the calcium carbonate salts on the rocks, similar to white marble.
The Marmore Falls, with its 165 m, is the highest artificial waterfall in Europe and holds the record for the highest artificial fall in the world.
Its waters, also illuminated at night, are used to produce hydroelectric energy. The rocks and vegetation below are exposed when the waterfall's flow is minimal.
The Marmore Falls are part of the Nera River Park. Access to the area is underpayment, and you can walk the various paths between the lower and upper belvedere.
