The historic center is divided into four districts, each of which takes its name from the most important place of worship in the area: the Santa Maria Novella district; the San Giovanni district, linked to the Baptistery of San Giovanni, one of the oldest and most important temples in Florence;

the community of Santa Croce, whose name derives from

the Basilica of Santa Croce; the neighborhood of Santo Spirito.


Walking through the streets of the historic center, you can admire the beautiful squares and historic city buildings. In the church of Santa Maria del Fiore, the most illustrious of the monuments, better known as the Duomo, one of the most extensive fresco cycles are visible: 3600 square meters of frescoes.

world, such as the Uffizi Gallery, initially born as the seat of the offices of the prominent Medici family, has nowadays become a precious treasure chest of art that houses the masterpieces of Italian and foreign artists the likes of Cimabue, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Piero Della Francesca, Raphael, Caravaggio, as well as Rubens, Goya and many more.

Gastronomy

Tasting a nice Florentine steak is a real sensory experience, as is savoring the most known and appreciated red wine in the world, Chianti. The famous Tuscan bread and extra virgin olive oil cannot be missing from the table.
