Collodi, fraction of Pescia (PT)-The village of Pinocchio- Historic Garden of Villa Garzoni- Tuscany

Today we are in Collodi, in the heart of Tuscany. An extraordinary village that pays homage to Pinocchio. The village appears in front of you like a cascade of houses, and the beautiful Villa Garzoni seems as if it wants to keep them all with its majestic grandeur.

One of the main attractions is the Pinocchio theme park, a real open-air museum that will allow you to relive one of the most loved fairy tales by children. It differs from the usual amusement park but is just as engaging. You will be immersed in a path where art and nature intertwine.

Villa Garzoni is spectacular, with its flowers, fountains, stairs, and trees. The area next to the villa is beautiful, where you will find the labyrinth and a fantastic high reed bed where you can pass through it.

Various tourists left many signatures and indelible dedications on the trunks of the reeds.

In this splendid village, the Florentine writer Carlo Lorenzini, later called Carlo Collodi, spent part of his childhood there, creating his masterpiece: The Adventures of Pinocchio—the story of a puppet.

There are a couple of interesting tidbits about this story: - The author had not foreseen a happy ending for Pinocchio, who would eventually have to hang himself.

Thanks to the complaints of young readers, the story was changed, and Collodi decided to continue taking another two years to complete it. - In the original version, Pinocchio kills the Cricket because he is tired of hearing his reproaches, only to reappear as a ghost.

According to an estimate by the Carlo Collodi National Foundation based on UNESCO sources, Pinocchio's work boasts 240 translations worldwide.
