We are in the kingdom of King Laurino, in the presence of the Catinaccio, and here, in fact, one of the most evocative legends of the Dolomites is born, trying to explain the secret of these mountains that turn pink at sunset:

"It is said that King Laurino had a beautiful rose garden on the majestic Catinaccio. His people of dwarves dug into the bowels of the massif in search of precious stones. When the King of the Adige decided to marry his daughter Similde to a noble, King Laurin also showed up - not being invited, though he used a magical cape that made him invisible. He immediately fell in love with the beautiful girl and kidnapped her, taking her to the Catinaccio. The German name of the Catinaccio is “Rosengarten,” meaning “rose garden.” When the betrothed of the king's daughter came to free her, King Laurin took his magic belt, which gave him the strength of 12 men, and the cape that made him invisible, ready to fight against the knight. But these, together with his vassals, recognized the movements of the hidden king, observed the direction of the roses, and imprisoned him. Subsequently, King Laurin cursed his rose garden, which had betrayed him: no eye could have admired it, neither by day nor by night. But he forgot the sunrise and sunset, and since then, in those few moments, the Catinaccio has been tinged with a magnificent pink - a spectacular phenomenon known as "Enrosadira."
