A hidden treasure between waterfalls and unspoiled nature, including by none other than the prestigious English newspaper Financial Times in the list of the best wild places to swim in Italy... #UNESCO #tuttitaly
Seen from above, Premilcuore looks like a fairy tale place.
The beauty of this village is due to the green of nature and the blue of its waters. We are at the gates of the Casentinesi Forests National Park.
In the center of Premilcuore, there is the Rocca and the Clock Tower, while in the surrounding area, we can see the Ponte del Gorgolaio and the two ancient mills.
The latter was once used both for milling chestnuts and for processing wood, consistently exploiting the power of water.
Do not miss a visit to the "Museum of the Fauna and the Senses," where you can discover, through the senses, the fauna of the area's woods, meadows, and waterways.
But, the great attraction of Premilcuore is the Urlante Grotto, which can be reached by crossing the Roman bridge.
In summer, it is impossible to resist the temptation to bathe, but it is advisable to go there early in the morning while the sun is still out. However, it is a perfect alternative to the beach and satisfies both mountain and sea lovers.
Quite a lovely place.
