Castellammare di Stabia rises in the center of the Gulf of Naples, at the foot of Monte Faito, and boasts a pleasant summer and winter climate. In the hottest months, temperatures exceed 25°, while in the coldest months, they remain around 16°.
During the 13th Congress of Hydrology, Climatology, and Physical Therapy, Castellammare di Stabia was defined as the "Metropolis of Waters, Climates, and the Sea."
The territory boasts 28 mineral water springs which, due to the variety of their chemical composition and pharmacological action, can cure various morbid conditions.
The waters are used for balneotherapy, mud therapy, inhalations, and skin cosmetics.
In addition to the natural beauties, Castellammare boasts monuments and works of art. The Archaeological Excavations, which have brought to light elegant and imposing Roman villas, and the Stabiano Museum testify to the historical importance of the locality, buried, together with Herculaneum and Pompeii, by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
