We are in the old port of Genoa; this time, the masterpiece is by the famous architect Renzo Piano, and the wonder is its bubble, suspended over the sea. The Biosphere structure was made entirely of glass and steel with a diameter of about 20 meters.
Inside, a small tropical rainforest has been reproduced that hosts over 150 species of animals and plants. You will also find tall giant ferns and various species of tropical plants.
Entering the Biosphere is also significant because the transparent glass surrounding it gives you the feeling of being in the middle of a rainforest with many animals around you, such as birds, butterflies, iguanas, turtles, and fluttering fish. They roam freely without any barrier or fence between you and them.
Contact with nature and vegetation is beautiful, fulfilling, and hard to forget. All this happens thanks to an air conditioning system that, with the heat of the sea from below and the heat of the sun from above, which is directed with sails that move according to the position of
the sun, a level of temperature is constantly created and humidity suitable for the survival of animals and plants inside the sphere.
The entrance ticket to the Genoa Aquarium also includes visiting the Biosphere. A visit that cannot be missed.
