The Bari seafront, which with its 15 km is the longest seafront in Italy and Europe. The seafront in fact unites the east and west sides of the Apulian capital, also passing through the most important streets of the city... #tuttitaly
Bari, the capital of Puglia, wins you with its authenticity and liveliness. You cannot miss a visit to the Basilica of San Nicola and its crypt when you are there. The majestic basilica was built in 1200 to house the saint's relics.
Venerated all over the world, especially by the Orthodox Church, St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, is the patron saint of Bari and is honored from 7 to 10 May each year through religious events, historical processions, lights, and fireworks artifice.
And this is an appointment not to be missed!
The Lama Balice Natural Park is a hidden gem in the San Girolamo-Fesca district, north of the city. But if you want to enjoy a breathtaking view, I suggest you get to the final part of the Wall.
A natural attraction is the Petruzzelli Theater. This fascinates me with its history, beauty, and art permeating every single inch.
Furthermore, we must mention the most authentic place in Bari: the alleys of Bari Vecchia. Here you will find women intent on making orecchiette; you will see elderly ladies sitting at the door of their Sottani, ready to show you the shortest way to reach the Basilica of San Nicola. You will be captivated by scents, flavors, and colors. You will feel genuinely welcome.
In spring/summer, I recommend you spend an evening at the "Chiringuito," known as "N'derr la Lanz." Kingdom of fishermen by day, in the evening, becomes a meeting point for young people from Bari. Enjoy the sunset from this corner of the city over an aperitif like a true local: "panzerotti and peppers"!
